The ICCCI Lion Dance Team is rooted in the tradition of Hung Gar Kung Fu, a martial art popular in southern part of China. Our leaders, Na Wu and Xinyue Chang, were trained by Master Leung Kwok Fung, a fourth-generation disciple of the legendary Wong Fei-Hung. Our team is dedicated to preserving and promoting the art of traditional Chinese lion dance. We strive to create a dynamic and engaging environment where participants can learn, grow, and experience the joy of this historic cultural practice.
Over the years, the ICCCI Lion Dance Team has had the honor of performing at a variety of prestigious events, including the Indy 500 Parade, the Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s Pre-concert Show, the Carmel International Arts Festival, the Carmelfest Independence Day Parade, and the Indianapolis Chinese Festival. These performances have allowed us to share the beauty and excitement of lion dance with diverse audiences.
We warmly welcome individuals who are passionate about lion dance or traditional percussion music to join our team. Our regular weekend practices offer a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in Chinese culture, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. Whether you are a beginner or have prior experience, we encourage you to reach out and become part of our growing community.
